WELCOME TO NTCRCI (THE NORTH TEXAS CHAPTER OF RCI)

NTCRCI is a not-for-profit, professional association of building envelope specialists and is an affiliated chapter of RCI, Inc., The Institute of Roofing, Waterproofing, & Building Envelope Professionals. Our Professional Members are independent consultants who evaluate existing roofing, waterproofing, and exterior wall systems and who specify and monitor the application of new and replacement systems. Integral to our commitment to the advance of the building sciences, our association has a Friend of the Chapter classification that is open to contractors, material manufacturers, and product representatives.

Letter from the President

Our chapter is a little over 2 years old.  As with any 2 year old child, we have had successes and challenges to overcome.  When I review the Mission of our chapter, I am proud of our accomplishments in this short period of time.

Ron Erdman (past president) had one major goal to accomplish in founding a local organization.  He wanted to make Dallas-Fort Worth a destination for education, so that local members would not always have to travel to get continuing education units or to take the certification exams.  We are making this happen.  Behind the leadership of Bill Conley, we have provided quality professional development to our members through our Lunch and Learn meetings and we co-hosted the Roof System Thermal and Moisture Design class in December of last year.

I believe that our members do represent the interests and values of RCI, and our organization has raised the bar for other chapters.  RCI has acknowledged our successes in the areas of membership participation, education, fiscal responsibility, and support for the national office.

We have one of the largest membership bases in quantity and diversity with consistent attendance at our monthly meetings.  We have been able to donate $2000 to the RCI Foundation each year since we began and raised additional monies during the silent auction at the Foundation Reception at the convention.

RCI leadership and staff were fully supported by our membership during the National Convention here in Dallas.

The members of the board are the facilitators for achieving our chapter goals, but the membership is responsible for the results.  Congratulations on your success!  I think we have proved to be a “gifted and talented” 2 year old chapter, and we could skip a grade if we were a student.

Cindy L. Chadwell, RRC, AIA
President NTCRCI
